| MOBILE EMITTER - ST Voyager's
Doctor
Scratch-build Prop Replica Build on September 2006 |

| This is the very first atempt I did to
build a prop replica and, I must to admit, I couldt find nothing
easier, the mobile emitor of the Voyager's doctor. The very first thing was to find references on the net and I was pleased to see that also the schematics of the emitter were available for download. I took a 3mm thick styrene sheet and I cut off two pieces with the profile of the emitter. in one of them I cut off the details, the four grooves on the top and the location of the circuit. Next I glued together both pieces, one on top of the other. A little bit of putty and sanding off, gave me the desired piece of plastic. Next, I applied primer coat, the metallic paint and a coat of future glossy coat. I then applied the decal representing the circuit and, after allowing 24 hours of drying, I applied future again and, after 24 additional hours, I finally applied the top coat, dull. And that was it. Ready to go. The final result |
